Explore nonfiction text structures

Each Interactive Read Aloud Big Book introduces the content of the topic strand as well as various text types – the kind of real world reading students need more exposure to and practice with. Text Analysis Overheads and Writing Frames (also available as Interactive Whiteboard Software) are used to explicitly teach the reading, thinking and writing of each nonfiction text type. Audio CD’s walk students through each Big Book, and four leveled readers connect to a corresponding Big Book. These 12 titles can be used for small group comprehension work and independent reading. Explorations Assessment allows you to find out what your students know about reading and writing nonfiction.
